The sensors are designed for non-contact measurement of positions and displacements of technological objects, and, in particular, for control of gap sizes in TV picture tube electron-optical systems 

Operating principle

LED radiation is formed by a condenser lens and illuminates a split mask. Image of the mask is constructed by a lens through a beam splitter on the surface of  the object under control.  The same lens is used to transfer the image obtained to the analysis plane, where a CCD-linear array is located.  Contrast of the analyzed image changes with the distance to the object.  With the help of a drive, the whole sensor can be moved to achieve maximum contrast. The amount of  movement  corresponds to  the changing of the distance to the object..
